Managing Director, Damian Wall is a recognised Cultural Heritage Advisor as defined under section 189(1) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (“the Act”) in Victoria. In this capacity, Damian has been recognized by the Office of Aboriginal Affairs Victoria (OAAV) as possessing the appropriate skills that are directly relevant to the management of Aboriginal cultural heritage. Red-Gum can assist with Cultural Heritage Due Diligence Assessments and Cultural Heritage Management Plans.
Red-Gum can assist with the assessment of green-field sites for native vegetation values and baseline ecological assessments. Damian is fully conversant with the provisions of Victoria’s Native Vegetation Management – a Framework for Action, as it relates to site planning and achieving the Net Gain principles. Red-Gum can assist in considering the 3-step approach to native vegetation protection and clearance decisions at the on-ground level.
Red-Gum can assist existing quarry managers update approved Work Plans or establish new Work Authority areas and associated management plans. Red-Gum’s connections with locally based Planning Consultants, Civil Engineers and Surveyors facilitates a true ‘one-stop-shop’ solution for those in extractive industries.
Red-Gum can develop Bushfire Management Statements in response to the requirements of Clause 44.06 Bushfire Management Overlay, and associated Clause 52.47 Bushfire Protection: Planning Requirements in Victoria. Red-Gum takes a cooperative approach to site assessment and planning to achieve BMO requirements and integrates a sound knowledge of fire behaviour with the need to achieve no Net Loss of native vegetation.
Aside from collection and analysis of environmental data, Red-Gum can produce technical documents, maps and GIS mediums suitable for the web. Spatial and temporal analysis tailored to any audience or purpose can be accommodated.
Red-Gum can develop property, sub-catchment and catchment scale environmental restoration plans/programs. Products in the past have been aimed at landholders, Landcare Networks, Catchment Groups, Government and Industry. Field assessment, community facilitation and report writing are a specialty.
Red-Gum uses GPS enabled hardware to capture real time data in the field to assist asset managers, natural resource managers and those involved in environmental monitoring. Red-Gum extends services to GIS analysis and map production suitable for a range of audiences and end-uses.
Damian is a Principal Auditor as recognised by RABQSA. Phase one environmental audits and general compliance auditing are a specialist product that Red-Gum can provide to a range of industries. Audits can also be used to improve general site management (erosion and sediment control advice) and advice graduating to templates for Contractor Environmental Management Plans.
