Mr Damian Wall (BAppSc, Parks, Recreation & Heritage, MEnvMgt, GradCert CHM, MEIANZ, CENVP)
Damian has 27 years’ experience in ecological & environmental assessment, NRM planning and community liaison. Damian is a Vegetation Quality Assessment Method (VQAM) accredited person in VIC and a Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) Accredited Person in NSW (BAAS18081). Damian is also listed Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisor in VIC, a Full Member of the Australian Association of Consulting Arcaeologists Inc (AACAI), is currently completing a Masters of Archaeology & Cultural Heritage Management (Flinders University) and has 25 years’ experience in Aboriginal Cultural heritage survey nation-wide.
Kate Hill (BEnSc MConsBiol, BScHons)
Kate has 23 years’ experience in biodiversity assessment with strong botanical and zoological technical skills. She has conducted flora and fauna surveys and impact assessments in a diverse range of ecosystems in Victoria and New South Wales while working in both the public and private sector. She has experience in targeted threatened species searches and mapping of threatened ecological communities as well as the development and implementation of ecological monitoring programs. Kate is accredited by the Victorian Government Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action to assess vegetation quality with the habitat hectares methodology in accordance with Victoria’s Biodiversity Assessment Guidelines and experienced in the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method and biodiversity offset delivery. Kate has experience in projects involving linear infrastructure, renewable energy and residential subdivisions. Kate identifies ecological constraints and applies ecological legislation, aiming to deliver projects to achieve the most cost-effective offset arrangements.
Stuart Mendham (BAppSc, Parks, Recreation & Heritage)
Stuart is a Senior Field Botanist with over 20 years’ experience in the fields of flora and fauna assessment and environmental management. Stuart’s speciality is vegetation assessment, management and research, with an extensive knowledge of the vegetation of south-eastern Australia and the arid zones of Western Australia. Stuart is a Vegetation Quality Assessment Method (VQAM) accredited person in Victoria. Stuart is also experienced in the application of the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM)(currently undergoing accreditation) and has performed biodiversity impact assessments and developed vegetation offset plans under the guidance of accredited BAM assessors. Stuart has been a project manager on a number of large ecological assessments and has particular expertise in providing tailored and industry-specific recommendations to avoid and minimise the environmental impacts of major projects. Stuart also has a background in state government environmental management, fire management, pest and weed management and biosecurity portfolios, which affords Stuart the ability to make recommendations to address issues of this nature, as they relate to development and major infrastructure projects.
Dr Emily Mendham (BAppSc (Hons), PhD)
Emily has ten years’ experience as a social researcher in the area of natural resource management. Emily has extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She has worked on large, interdisciplinary projects as a member of several different research Institutes and programs. Emily joined Red-Gum Environmental Consulting in 2023. She is primarily focused on Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments.
